Five things to know about a custody evaluation #5. It’s always about the best interests of the child
You may not particularly like the fact that you’re going to share parenting time with the person who betrayed you or hurt you. However, the whole focus of the custody evaluation comes down to what is best for the children and that should be the bottom line for the evaluator and for the court. That may mean that you don’t win this one. It may mean that you have to share your parenting time with the other parent. If you don’t eventually gain full custody, focus on being the best parent you can be with the time you have because this, in the end, is your most important responsibility as a parent to your children.
